Would Microsoft have tried to acquire Bungie and Destiny 2?

Would Microsoft have tried to acquire Bungie and Destiny 2?

In the past few hours the news would have emerged on the web that Bungie, software house known to the general public for having developed some highly successful videogame series, including: Marathon, Destiny e Halo, would have been very close to being acquired by Microsoft products. What would have prevented the agreement would have been the particularly high cost required by the Bellevue study. The news was recently released by the now known Jeff Grubb, to be shared on Twitter by Nibel, who would have told in his podcast that the Redmond house would have tried several times to bring back Bungie among its ranks, attempts that went up in smoke due to the huge demands of the development team.

Rumor: Microsoft has been in talks to acquire Bungie multiple times, but each time they have failed due to Bungie's high price

But that's not all, given that after the news spread around the web, the founder and CEO of the US software house, Pete parsons, has decided to intervene in the first person, categorically denying the rumor spread by Jeff Grubb, with a dry "this is false". At the moment we don't know if these talks between Microsoft and Bungie actually never happened or if Parsons is simply trying to "hide" the story. Finally, we remind you that Xbox Series X e Xbox series s will pre-orderable starting from the next September 22th, at the price respectively of 499,99 € e 299,99 €. While the debut on the market of the two next-gen consoles of the Redmond house is scheduled for November 10 2020.

    This is false.
