As you well know at BlizzCon 2021, during which a new trailer for Diablo IV, Diablo 2 Resurrected and World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic. This latest announcement not only reiterated that the company will not hesitate to make its old WoW expansions available again, but how far will it go? We will see a return of Wrath of the Lich King Classic? Although at the moment there has been no confirmation on the matter, the executive producer John Hight and the lead software engineer Brian Birmingham, during a recent interview with IGN microphones, they clarified that the release of future expansions will depend solely on demand from the Classic community. We report in detail what has been said:
[Brian Birmingham] We want to hear what the community wants. What people want to see is what we want to do. If people are excited about the next few chapters, then we want to hear about it and start talking about it.
[John Hight] If we have a good party, we want it to continue.
Therefore, according to the encouraging words of the two exponents of Blizzard Entertainment, the possibility that Wrath of the Lich King Classic may be announced in the future, but it will depend solely on the will of the gamers and not on the company's business strategies. In addition, during the interview, the executive producer of the game again wanted to thank the fans of the famous MMORPG for PC, also given the great support and appreciation since the first announcements.
[John Hight] We also paved the way when we announced Classic. This was one of the questions I asked myself on that fateful day at BlizzCon. At that point, we already had plans, but we wanted to see how much fans like it would be. I think we have said it many times, but we were completely overwhelmed by the extremely positive reception we received… not only have so many come to play Classic, but have continued to support us, it is a vibrant community. We now boast of having two of the greatest MMORPGs for PC. Of course we would go to Burning Crusade.
Finally, John Hight e Brian Birmingham they initially confirmed the project World of Warcraft Classic did not include any expansion, in order to preserve the original essence of the game, but with the announcement of The Burning Crusade Classic they decided to please the fans who loved this version of WoW.
