Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World announced for PS4 and Nintendo Switch

In the past few hours, IGN has revealed a new title in the series Wonder Boy to Playstation 4 e Nintendo Switch: Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World. As the name suggests, the game sees the return of the protagonist of Monster World IV Asha and his partner Pepelogoo. It is described as a new opera rather than a remake (although the developers years ago were more geared towards remakes) and, interestingly, it will be fully voiced. Members of Wonder Boy's original creative team are also rumored to be involved, with Artdink who leads the development together with the publisher ININ Games. In particular, Ryuichi Nishizawa is back in the director's chair, with Shinichi sakamoto to musical homework e Maki Ozara to character design.

It is currently scheduled for release in 2021Whether we will see more platforms added to the lineup before release is yet to be seen. Either way, it's a very welcome return for a cult classic character, with many citing Monster World IV as the pinnacle of the series. Apparently a full disclosure is expected for the Gamescom within this week.

There is also a mailing list, which reveals the logo of Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World, within which also Strictly Limited Games they seem to be involved - which isn't entirely surprising, as they and ININ are already hard at work on the next reissue of Clockwork Aquario, another title from the Wonder Boy team.
