Will PlayStation 5 be without an HDMI 2.1 cable in the box?

Will PlayStation 5 be without an HDMI 2.1 cable in the box?

There has been a lot of confusion over the last few hours about PlayStation 5 and whether or not there is a cable HDMI 2.1 inside the package. The new Sony console is currently in the hands of various influencers and journalists, and through the various resulting unboxing a huge doubt has emerged related to the HDMI 2.1 cable and its possible absence. For the uninitiated, the HDMI 2.1 cable is the only one capable of reaching 120Hz with a resolution 4K, and therefore only through this cable it would be possible to make the most of the power of PlayStation 5. The doubt about the presence or absence of the now infamous cable was born from a video of Digital Foundry which shows what appears to be a cable HDMI 2.0 and not the 2.1.

However, this later turned out not to be concrete proof but a simple misunderstanding, given that it is said during the Digital Foundry video that "it would be strange if it were not a 2.1". Also on Resetera, in the topic dedicated to this thorny topic, a producer of Tripwire Interactive, which is the development team behind the series Killing floor, who stated that PlayStation 5 will contain an HDMI 2.1 cable inside the package. The situation, however, is quite confused and until Sony releases an official statement, the presence or absence of the cable cannot be taken for granted.

For the uninitiated, Sony will launch the console in the US next November 12, at the price of well dollars 499,99, while in Europe it will hit the market exactly one week later. The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, a version without a reader sold at dollars 399,99. For more news, please continue to follow us to stay updated on the matter.
