These include the first NVMe ™ SSD (solid-state drive) with next generation PCIe® Gen4 technology, a fully bootable Gen3 x8 add-on card on computer boot, and an NVMe Thunderbolt ™ 3 SSD dock, each with RGB lighting options captivating.
To confirm Western Digital's intention to focus its efforts on satisfying users' performance requests, it has also thought about it Jim Welsh, senior vice-president of the company who, on the sidelines of the press release, released a brief statement in which he explained the goal that the company set itself in the realization of these new devices:

And this also means innovative storage solutions, capable of guaranteeing high levels of performance. Our latest line of WD_BLACK products has been specially designed to allow gamers to access the ever-growing high standards of future games and gaming platforms.
Ultimately, there are three new products that enrich Western Digital's line-up of storage solutions:
- WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD: this product will offer read and write speeds of up to 7000 and 5300MB / s respectively (for the 1TB model), thanks to which it will drastically reduce game loading times and make file transfers much faster. The heatsinkless version of the product available in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities, at a price starting from 139,99 €;
- WD_BLACK AN1500 NVMe SSD add-on card: this plug & play add-on card is fully bootable by booting the computer. Powered by two internal SSDs, it achieves read speeds of up to 6500MB / s and write speeds of up to 4100MB / s (in 2TB and 4TB models). It will be available in
1TB, 2TB and 4TB capacities at a price starting from 272,99 €; - WD_BLACK D50 Game Dock NVMe SSD: This gaming dock, compatible with laptops equipped with a Thunderbolt 3 port, offers compact dimensions and high levels of performance. It is available in both 1TB capacities starting from 491,99 € and both in version non-SSD at a price of 311,99 €.
