Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, Hardsuit fires staff

Part of the team of Hardsuit Labs was fired, following last week's announcement of his departure as developer of the next Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. Several Seattle studio employees announced on Twitter of having been fired, as did the fiction writer and designer Anna C. Webster, who claimed she was fired "along with the rest of the narrative department (and many others)". Another member of that department, the narrative designer Nicole Stanford, confirmed that "the entire narrative team, including [her], has been fired." Even the lead narrative designer, Samantha Wallschlaeger, who was hired in October, was fired.

The publisher Paradox Interactive announced just last week that Hardsuit Labs would be replaced as the developer of Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2. The title, which has had a troubled development path, was expected this year, but has now been officially postponed to 2022. new release window has not yet been announced. Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 had already been postponed from 2020 to 2021 in August last year. A news that comes after those of the numerous postponements of titles that were supposed to be out this year, such as Prince of Persia The Sands of Time Remake, but which were postponed for various reasons. At the moment there does not seem to be a new official debut date for the vampire RPG.

The fate of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 seems to be darker than the game itself. Paradox has currently confirmed that the title is still in development, but the news that Hardsuit Labs is no longer at the helm of the project does not give us hope for an imminent release. Not only that, even the fact that some of the team members have been fired certainly does not bode well. We just have to wait for news directly from the developers, in the hope that the game is able to come out in the best possible way.
