    Undertale - Review

It all started like this: friend: “Marva plays Undertale, surely you will like it! It has retro graphics just the way you like it and it's INDIE! " Me: "Mhe ... oh well the Indies are the only thing that give me a real challenge now as I was ... LET'S BUY IT! "

And this is how you discover a world behind a game so simple, complicated and well thought out that I had never seen; when I finally defeated the last Hard Boss then I felt my heart beating and a goosebumps felt the last time when Super Mario 64 ends. Well ragassuoli Undertale is this and much, much more!

Let's start the game, let's put the name and go, a role-playing game like everyone else except that from the first minutes you are confused to death by a talking flower that explains to you that in this world you either kill or get killed; and we will see that we can spare our opponents and making us understand that it is enough to talk to solve problems… now what to do? Well it's simple, we will role-play deciding what to do, killing characters so as to get Exp and Gold and then, level up, or interact with them, not gain experience but understand the modus operandi of each monster, make friends with them by saving them and making us give gold coins for the trouble? The choice is up to you, there is no right way or wrong way in this game, every choice you make will however lead to consequences, even simply of dialogue, different from each other; where the RPG mode will be alternated with puzzles inside the game and secrets that will gradually be discovered by playing and interacting with the world of monsters. Well, we defeated monsters, spared Bosses and got to the end of the game and now? Well now little Flowey will tell us that we didn't do as he told us but he still appreciated our work by pointing out our mistakes and helping us to fulfill our definitive mission by resetting the world and making us choose 2 paths: the path of the genocide of the talking flower and that of the pacifist of the mother Toriel.

Let's analyze the speech well "combat"(I put the quotes because it is more an interaction screen), where we should put our soul ... and soul, because it will be our human soul, enclosed in a red heart, that will have to do everything! The fights are turn-based, we will have the possibility to make the first move by attacking using the FIGHT button, interacting with one of our opponents with the ACT button, using a healing item, equipping a weapon or armor using the ITEM button, and having the possibility to save a enemy (?) via the MERCY button. Once we have made our choice, it will be our opponent's turn and there we should use the directional arrows to avoid the offensive skills that will throw into the cube from the white border; each opponent will have a different ability and if another monster is with him they will make offensive combos.

The game brings us to a real moral problem: kill the characters or not? Interacting with them the right way or running away from them? This choice is immediately understood by the player, making us understand that killing is the wrong thing to do but, when are we forced to do it to move forward? When we have to do a genocidal mode and we have to kill all the characters we loved until recently… how can we behave? Here the True Pacifist mode comes to our aid, a mode where our goodness will be rewarded and where the “good” ending will be revealed to us, the ones that everyone expect after the second run of the game. And now the "Genocide"... we should reset the world again and kill whatever comes in front of us until no one comes to us anymore, we have to beat new bosses and discover a really scary side of the game itself and the scariest thing is that we are moving the character. Personally, I thought a lot before doing this mode, but I went on driven by the desire to know and know. I understand the choice of many to stop at True Pacifist but trust me, this mode, while hard to digest, will give you those extra goodies you will need to get a complete picture of the super-intricate storyline behind Undertale.

The visual sector, given the 8bit graphics, it is what it is; but to compensate for this lack comes a sound sector not just.

A very interesting game that always leaves you speechless, but it will never be as wide open as when the credits arrive and you discover that almost the whole game was developed by the same person, creator of the game itself, Toby Fox. An 8-bit game with unforgettable characters, music that reflects the moment and the soul of the situation where we are, a fantastic story that changes and evolves according to our choices, and that will push us to replay Undertale until we drop.
