Ubisoft: two directors on indictment of alleged sexual abuse

Ubisoft: two directors on indictment of alleged sexual abuse

Ubisoft is one of the biggest realities in the videogame world, even in Europe. After the scandal of the creative director of Assassin's Creed Valhalla - who independently discharged himself due to allegations of extramarital affairs and sexual assault - now the company has decided to sift through the entire human resources department in order to take action towards the people accused of these misdeeds. This sieve does not even save the upper floors, in fact two vice presidents, Tommy François e Maxime Béland were put "on indictment" for three Twitter calls from people who want to remain anonymous. Neither man responded to the allegations. These are the words of the company spokesperson, Stephanie Magnier:

These two people are under investigation, so we won't comment on the matter.

Obviously this is the direct consequence of Ashraf Ismail's departure, which caused a lack of trust on the part of Ubisoft. In fact, this is considered "deeply concerned", given the accusations against the creative director. In fact, he published an update on the official blog where you can read:

There have been some troubling allegations against some members of the Ubisoft team: we want to start by apologizing to anyone who has been touched by this - we're really sorry. We are striving to create an inclusive and healthy environment for our teams, players and communities. It is clear that we have failed in the past. We have to do better.

We started a series of investigations, aided by members outside the company. Based on the results, we will take the right disciplinary action. […] Our goal is to create an environment that everyone can be proud of.

Ubisoft has well over 16 employees, with offices everywhere that are well distributed on the globe. Therefore it will be necessary wait quite a while'before the results are seen.
