Ubisoft: problems arise with the rescues of Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion

Players Assassin's Creed Valhalla e Watch Dogs Legion are reporting save file corruption issues these days leading to substantial in-game progress losses. The problem does not appear to be platform-specific, as the reports are from players on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X, PS5 and PC. It therefore seems that it is not a problem related to the new generations of consoles, but to Ubisoft titles in themselves.

A thread on the Ubisoft forums titled "Game progress is not saved”Was opened by users by someone who started playing Watch Dogs Legion on Xbox One but experienced frequent crashes. After switching to Xbox Series X, the problem seems to never reoccur, but the game continues to no longer save game progress. Since it is not possible to manually save in Watch Dogs Legion, this meant that the player was subject to playing the same mission every time he returned to the game. Currently, the thread has 31 pages of responses sharing similar experiences. The user Superman1180, however, states that the software house is starting to recognize the problem. With Assassin's Creed Valhalla, the problem seems to be with manual saves. There is a separate conversation going on on the Ubisoft forums from players who are using the “corrupted data” tag a lot, on one or more files of their save files. “I was already at level 90, I have completed 3 entire regions. And now all my saves are gone. Completely disappeared! " in fact we read in one of the comments.

For now, it appears that automatic saves are safer in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Unfortunately for Watch Dogs Legion players, there doesn't seem to be a clear solution yet. All that remains is to wait for Ubisoft's countermeasures, perhaps with a patch that solves the problem.
