For those interested in picking up again The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and didn't want to wait for the upcoming patch to be able to play it on PlayStation 5here is a solution. GalacticGamer recently posted a video on Youtube in which he shows how he manages to run his copy of The Witcher 5 on PS3 at 60 frames per second thanks to the backwards compatibility of the new Sony console, this however only with no updates installed.
In the user's video, the game seems to run perfectly at stable 60FPS, but to make this possible, The Witcher 3 needs to be installed without any updates, which could give you other problems than the frame-rate. CD Projekt Red had to work hard to optimize this title so that it could be played without too many problems, some of them very serious.
The alternative is to wait for the expected patch announced by CD Projekt Red in September of this year. The Polish company is in fact working to bring to users something more important than a simple patch. Several visual and technical improvements will be added, such as ray tracing and fast loading times both in the base game and in its two expansions and additional content. For this reason, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be available as a new standalone game on both Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 and PC. Do not worry though, for owners of the old version of the game it will be possible to download thefree update both for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. There is still no news on the part of the company, probably cyberpunk 2077 it is still taking up most of their time.
If you have a copy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and you are among the lucky ones who have managed to get your hands on a PlayStation 5, you can definitely try this system, but remember that the free patch is coming and together with the technical improvements and graphics will probably also bring 60FPS with them.
