The Walking Dead: the series will end with season 11

The Walking Dead, the most popular zombie-themed TV series ever, by license plate AMC, is about to come to an end after ten years of success. Season XNUMX was airing in the United States and much of the world, right during the worst time of the pandemic Covid-19. Fifteen of the sixteen scheduled episodes of the season were broadcast, while the final one was postponed to 4 October. Next year, 6 new episodes are planned to be added to the current season, but the news that all fans have been waiting for a long time has finally arrived, which concerns the highly anticipated series finale.

Well, the already scheduled eleventh season will be the last, but it will not count the traditional sixteen episodes, but twenty-four. The last season will start in 2021 and will end a full year later, putting the final point to the main story. But we know that the world of The Walking Dead is not yet exhausted, thanks to the spin-offs Fear The Walking Dead, to the brand new World Beyond and a new one now scheduled, which will see the characters of Daryl Dixon Carol Peletier, interpreted respectively by NMelissa McBride.

Ten years have passed and now we have another two full of stories to tell. What is clear is that this show was crafted by a passionate cast and team of talented writers and producers, who brought to life the vision presented by Robert Kirkman in his brilliant comic, supported by fans around the world. We still have many more stories to tell about The Walking Dead and this ending will actually be the beginning of more. They will have brand new characters, but also familiar places. It will be a grand finale and also an evolution. The Walking Dead lives on.

He has declared Scott Gimple. The current showrunner Angela Kang ha aggiunto:

I can't wait to connect with our writers, producers, directors and cast to bring this epic final chapter of Robert Kirkman's story to life for our fans. The Walking Dead flagship series has been my creative home for a decade and so getting it done feels bittersweet. I couldn't be more excited to be working with Scott Gimple and AMC and developing a new series for Daryl and Carol. Working with Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride has been the best thing in my career and I'm thrilled to be able to do it again.

The first spin-off is currently set for 2023, to be followed by Tales of The Walking Dead, an anthology with some episodes or small cycles dedicated to new or existing characters, background and other independent experiences. Something is also thought about Negan. Even films dedicated to the character of Rick Grimes are currently in the works and many updates will be coming soon.
