The Last Guardian hits 60fps on PlayStation 5, here's how

For some time now, the press and several YouTubers have been testing the performance of PlayStation 5, and after Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne and God of War, too The Last Guardian will benefit from some improvements due to the hardware architecture of the next-gen console made in Sony. From the information that emerged from a recent gameplay video by NX Gamer, video that you can retrieve at the following link, the work developed by Team Ico and SCE Japan Studio will manage to hit 60 FPS on PS5, as long as you use the disk version, without installing any corrective patches.

This is most likely due to the fact that before the patch (1.0 version) The Last Guardian runs at an unlimited framerate. Therefore, it would appear that subsequent updates will block the game at 30fps, not allowing the title to reach a higher frame rate on PlayStation 5. Despite this visible limitation, the frame rate of the next-gen version is more stable than the PlayStation 4 edition. But that's not all, since to be able to play The Last Guardian as smoothly as possible you will need to have a physical copy of the game, as the digital version will automatically install the various patches available, thereby locking the frame rate to 30 fps. This is absolutely a very interesting twist, and it makes us think about how many other titles could work better if restored to the “original” state, without installing any patches.

Waiting to get your hands on the new generation console of the Japanese giant and find out the outcome of the Be The First contest, PlayStation 5 will be available for purchase in our country starting from the next November 19 2020, at the price respectively of 499,99 € (PS5 "standard") and of 399,99 € (PS5 Digital Edition), already available for pre-order from k and other select retailers. Furthermore, if you are still not convinced that you want to buy PS5, at the following link you can find our special where we list the main differences with PlayStation 4.
