The advertising campaign for i The Game Awards 2020 continues to grow with ads by new presenters guests and teasers for great revelations. Fortnite's special announcements have become a hallmark of the annual awards show, and 2020 appears to be continuing the tradition. The event aims to be the video game industry's answer to Emmy and to Oscar, and for the past two years Fortnite has released major announcements that have shaped the future of the video game. In 2018, Fortnite introduced The Block point of interest, while 2019 saw the crossover with Star Wars. Epic Games' battle royale shooter has also garnered major accolades, taking the award for "Best Game In Progress" for two consecutive years.
Geoff keighley, producer and host of The Game Awards, in the past few hours has posted an image of one brown leather backpack non-descriptive with a label that said "This bag was issued to Agent Jones". For the uninitiated, the agent John “Jonesy” Jones is a recurring character in the narrative who was previously seen in footage related to major game events. The bag in Keighley's tweet teaser has appeared on Jones' back in a few scenes, although its current content is sconosciuto. The battle royale in question is particularly known for its crossovers with other universes: we have recently witnessed the one with the world The Marvel movies, while the creative director of Epic Games, Donald Mustard, recently hinted that Fortnite could undergo an update dedicated to the Japanese house of Nintendo.
This probably isn't the only Fortnite announcement that could happen at The Game Awards, however, as announcements from previous years have revealed big changes affecting the game as a whole. Despite the lack of the usual live audience, 2020 is shaping up to be a great year for the TGA, with high-profile titles like The Last of Us Part 2 of Naughty Dog and surprise hits like Hades by Supergiant Games currently dueling for top honors. Prize announcer training includes Troy Baker, Stephen A. Smith, Phil Specter e Reggie fils-aime, announced very recently.
