As fans of cinecomics know, and especially the universe DC, Robert Pattinson will take on the role of dark Knight in the new film by Matt Reeves, "The Batman", With release scheduled for 2021. After revealing the top-notch cast who will be taking part in the film - including Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis and John Turturro - and releasing a test camera where we finally got a closer look to Robert Pattinson's new Batman costume, the first images of the Batsuite directly on the set. The time has come to analyze in detail everything in our possession.
The bat
One of the elements that immediately catches the eye is certainly the stylistic reinterpretation of the logo of Batman, completely renewed compared to the past. At first glance it would seem that for the realization of the bat symbol, the young man Bruce Wayne has used the the butt of a pistol split open, and not just any gun, but the one used by Joe Chill to kill Thomas e Martha Wayne, recalling the recent comic saga “Batman Detective Comics # 1000“. Also, as can be seen from the short clip released by Matt Reeves, it would seem that the bat logo is inserted inside the costume, as if this also acted as a Batarang.
Mask
Another element that has not gone unnoticed by the watchful and attentive gaze of the fans is the mask, completely renewed compared to those worn by Christian Bale e Ben Affleck. This is not only more "free", showing off the jaw of Robert Pattinson, but completely made of leather. Moreover, thanks to some leaked images from the set, the design of the mask seems to be inspired by the comic saga "Batman vs Jack the Ripper", a series set in a Victorian Gotham. This hypothesis seems to find greater confirmation also from the "showy" collar shown so far.
abdominal
From what we saw from the first images "stolen" from the set of "The Batman", The tactical structure of the abdominals of the new Batsuite looks quite "squared" compared to previous film adaptations, resulting practically identical to the costume present in the comic saga "Batman Christmas" by Lee Bermejo.
Forearms
Finally, the photos from the set would have revealed a completely new detail of Robert Pattinson's new Batcostume, namely the presence of darts on the forearms, perfectly recalling those worn by Heel in the comic saga the "Court of the owls", created by Scott Snyder e Greg Capullo.
