Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Hands On, the Nintendo fighting game is back in great shape

In recent days we went to attend the post E3 event of Nintendo. For the occasion we were able to try the long awaited Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which, as we all know, was at the center of the great N's Los Angeles conference. In fact, the curiosity to try the game was really great, above all for two reasons: the title comes with a roster so varied and layered that it can satisfy the style of combat of any player, the second is that the rhythms seem to be more frenetic and fluid than its predecessors. Surely the videogame continues to be central to its historical users, but with such a large number of characters, even new users can approach the saga without any fear or fear. We had the opportunity to try it for a long time, thus being able to admire different scenarios and the abilities of the characters. That said, just go too far and here's how our experience with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate went.

Whoever leads first leads twice

As we know, one of the strengths of the brand is the presence of idols and icons that have made the history of the Kyoto House video game. For fans it is a daydream and, putting together this jumble of heroes and villains, combined with both a competitive and party game spirit, we have arrived at a title that has nothing to envy to the direct competitors present on the other consoles. . The videogame, as confirmed several times by Nintendo, is preparing to become the largest crossover ever created in the history of our reference medium. Obviously, however, it is not the number of characters that make the video game, therefore we approached our test with the hope that in front of us there was not only the improved and extended version of the previous chapter, but a new game that was able to give us familiar and new sensations at the same time. For obvious reasons, the mechanics that made the series great have been kept, so that historical fans don't have to get used to it from scratch. For new users there will be hard work to do, memorizing moves, timing, patterns and much more, it will be painstaking work in the early stages, but I can assure you that with a light practice, and some sound beating, you will soon be able to assimilate them. .

During our test we could see with certainty that, despite the established structure of the base mechanics, multiple improvements have been introduced. Most of them are related to the control system or the right balance between the various characters. The game runs stably at 60 fps, and this performance has also been promised in the portable version, which we have not been able to test. Air attacks are much easier to perform and with greater fluidity, even if to be exploited to the fullest, this also applies to aerial dodging, you will still need a fair amount of practice and precision. The rhythm of the clashes is much more reasoned, even if the instinct will continue to rule you especially in the most critical moments. The gameplay therefore seems to be the filing of the previous chapter, going to shore up some situations just enough to make all the action well coherent with the context of belonging. However, the old players will have an excellent feeling right away, appreciating the new details and the splendid glance that the experience is able to give, with bright and brilliant colors.

Fists in the hands

In conclusion we can say that to understand deeply Incredibly Smash Bros. Ultimate it is necessary to try the multimedia work firsthand. Each word seems superfluous, insufficient to be able to explain such a dynamic gameplay, variegated and malleable to the needs of any user. The game will be the spearhead of the Nintendo line up for 2018, being a fighting game it might seem almost a "niche" video game, but anyone with in-depth knowledge of the saga knows that it is not. We just have to wait for the official release to be able to understand and see more, but what we tested was certainly enough to make us raise expectations to the stars. If all goes well as we imagine, Switch owners will find a really thick exclusive in their hands.
