Super Nintendo World will open in February, here are new images of the park

According to what emerged on the net in the last few hours, it would seem that the Super Nintendo World, the highly anticipated theme park of the Kyoto house, may open sooner than expected. The opening, initially scheduled for spring 2021, would have been brought forward by a few months e set for next February 4th! The confirmation came not only from several Japanese media, but from Universal Studios itself, which through a post on its official Twitter account showed some unpublished locations of the new Super Nintendo World.

The shared images, which you can easily retrieve at the bottom of the article, allow us to take a closer look at some of the theme park attractions, among which Mario Kart AR, which will allow visitors to tackle the circuits that made the Nintendo racing game famous, but on rails. We can see how every single element of the Super Nintendo World perfectly re-proposes the iconic characters of the Mushroom Kingdom.

Furthermore, Universal stressed that, in order to make the experience inside the park as immersive as possible and more similar to the videogame counterpart, has created the attractions using the latest technologies available on the market. But that's not all, given that Kurumi Mori has managed to provide us with a lot of additional information, especially regarding Mario Kart AR. According to the reporter's words, the circuit will be called Koopa's Challenge, will be set inside the castle of Bowser and will use AR headphones. We report in detail what was said in the tweet:

It's official! The first #SuperNintendoWorld will open on February 4, 2021 in Osaka, Japan! I had the chance to see the sights in person and I can confirm that the Mario Kart ride uses AR headsets, even if it will be ON RAILS. Therefore it is not possible to fall off the Rainbow Road.

The Mario Kart attraction is called Koopa's Challenge and is located inside Bowser's castle. The castle was really beautiful with themed walls, doors, banners, ceilings, lights and a giant Bowser statue. Visitors see all of this and a trophy room as they line up for the race. Each pilot is provided with a thin headset with a visor, presumably for AR. Each Kart has 4 seats and each seat has a steering wheel. Despite the vehicle being on rails, the drivers are given some control. They also collect objects and “throw bullets” at other karts.
