Star Wars: Squadrons, the proposed experience will be integral

Electronic Arts decided to take the veil off Star Wars: Squadrons, in which you will be a pilot and whiz against or with the Empire. During the event of the American publisher he announced that the title will be a complete experience, without microtransactions. At the moment it is still under development but is expected to arrive on October 2, 2020 for PlayStation 4 (will also be compatible with PlayStation VR), Xbox One and PC. Furthermore, and perhaps this will be the most interesting data for many, it will be cross-play for all platforms.

The guys from Polygon interviewed the creative director, Ian Frazier, who communicated important details regarding Electronic Arts' approach to the new Star Wars: Squadrons. Her statements were:

You give us $ 40, we give you the title. It is a complete experience. It won't be a "Well, ok, this is part of the title and the rest will be released over the course of next week". It will be the whole game.

It is also true that the title may have DLCs, but they will not be shredded game parts, from what can be deduced from the words of Frazier. The basic idea is to follow the "old school" formula, ie that of the titles issued several years ago, which did not have neither downloadable content nor updates, given their nature on disc, also all the collectibles, the secrets, the skins, all this will be found by the players and there will be no microtransactions to get them. It will really all be in the hands of the players.

In addition to all this, the developers seem to have picked up all feedback from previous Star Wars titles, so they can give them exactly what they want without having to make adjustments in progress or post-release, as happened with the unfortunate Star Wars: Battlefront II (currently free with the PlayStation Plus).

It seems that Electronic Arts really wants to change mentality, at least for this title. We just have to wait until October 2nd to know how it will really go. Although this change of course by the American company is intriguing, given its always wanting to go straight in one direction only.
