During the presentation Disney Investor Day 2020, the company officially announced Star Wars: Rogue Squadrons, the new film from the vast cinematic universe of Star Wars which will be directed by Patty Jenkins, director known for directing Wonder Woman e Wonder Woman 1984. The release in theaters is scheduled for December 2023. This will be the next Star Wars movie to be released and will focus on the fighter pilots, now famous in the world of Star Wars, and will mark the first feature film in the series to be directed by a woman. Star Wars: Rogue Squadrons then joins the unannounced Star Wars movie directed by Taika Waititi, which the studio is currently developing.
