DICE announced, through the release of a post on its official blog, that the update "The Battle of Scarif"of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is available today, 29th April, and it will be the last regular update of the title. Furthermore, EA has confirmed that the Swedish company will release a new game dedicated to the Battlefield brand in 2021. We report below what was declared by the creative director of DICE, Dennis Brännvall, regarding the 26th free update of the game:

The DICE team is working on the standalone update of Battlefield V, which will be released this summer and will continue its work on providing games for the community. While the studio vision for Star Wars Battlefront 2 is now complete with the release of the update "The Battle of Scarif“, Servers, in-game challenges, recurring events and game support will continue, while the game will survive with players and the community. We can't wait to hear player stories for both games for years to come.
