Splinter Cell: according to a leak, there would be a new chapter on the horizon

According to some rumors, or rather according to a leaker, a new chapter in the famous saga of Splinter Cell would be in the works. He indeed spread on Reddit the news of having spoken to an anonymous source quite close to Ubisoft and to the project in question which would have revealed very interesting information in this regard.

In fact, it seems that work on the new chapter began in the not too distant 2015 and that over the years it has undergone several changes. Initially the game was very similar to its historical rival Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain, with a game world structured on three maps in an open world context. The settings of these three areas appear to be Southeast Asia, Russia and even South America plus a central hub. Furthermore, each single map was twice the size of the entire game area of The Division.

Subsequently the game has undergone various changes: first of all the resizing of all the game areas thus favoring a more dynamic and faster gameplay phase, after which, in order not to go too much in contrast with other productions of the parent company, the open world component it has been completely eliminated.

Finally, there would also seem to be a multiplayer component and a co-op campaign that would be released in episodes after the launch of the game. According to the author of these rumors, the title will be presented at E3 2020, even if he claims he does not know for which consoles will be released nor the release period if in 2020 or 2021.
