Spider-Man: Miles Morales, new plot details

Brian Horton, creative director of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, in a post on the official PlayStation blog, told new details about the new title of Insomniac Games. First of all, it was again specified that the title will not be a remaster of the game released in 2018 with a new DLC inside, but a standalone expansion similar to Uncharted: the Lost Legacy:

We know many of you want to know how big this game is. Our team has worked hard to bring you a great experience with Miles Morales since we finished development on Marvel's Spider-Man. […] It will be similar to a game like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy in terms of general scope.

Subsequently, Horton explained how Miles Morales' character is fundamental to them and that he deserved a game entirely dedicated to him:

As we continued through the Marvel's Spider-Man universe we knew that Miles' origin story as Spider-Man was something that needed his game. Miles' multicultural background reflects a more modern and diverse world and we wanted to give fans a new story, with new sets, new villains and unique missions in Marvel's New York City.

Finally, the historical and environmental context in which the new Insomniac Games title will be set was revealed:

We are in the winter, about a year after the events of the first game. Marvel's New York is covered in snow and, just before the Christmas holidays, a war has broken out between an energy company and a high-tech criminal army. Miles' new home in Harlem is at the center of the battle.

The title will be exclusive PlayStation 5 e will accompany the launch of the new generation console from Sony.
