Sony has temporarily suspended the PlayStation Store in China

Sony has temporarily suspended the PlayStation Store in China, with no guarantee of when it will be back in stock. According to the organization's official Weibo account, the store was removed due to a "security upgrade". The news would have been promptly reported by the well-known analyst Daniel Ahmad, who expressed himself on the matter through a post on his Twitter account. Here are his words:

The PlayStation Store (PSN) has been temporarily suspended in mainland China starting at 7:00 am on May 10th. Neither time nor date was given for the resumption of services.

The official reason given is to perform security updates. But it is not clear what it exactly means.

Furthermore, according to some users of the Chinese social network Weibo, it would seem that the problem is linked to the fact that many gamers use "fake" accounts to be able to connect to foreign stores di Sony and circumvent government-imposed regional blocks in terms of content accordingly, as all games officially released on Chinese territory are approved and verified by local regulations. At the moment, it would seem that the problem concerns exclusively the Chinese store, we will keep you updated as soon as there will be official communications from Sony.
