Solo: Director Ron Howard denies rumors about the possible sequel

Now that the predicament caused by the Covid-19 - responsible for bringing even the biggest companies to their knees - the film scene should be able to have some respite. But if thousands of films have been postponed by postponing the releases by over a year, the fans do not give up and continue to wait new presentations. A few days ago we told you about a rumor stating that, despite the spin-off's failure Solo: A Star Wars Story, a TV series would soon arrive sequel. A particular news given the recent announcements of two titles destined for the small screen, based on the saga of Star Wars.

Today the director Ron Howard, during a radio interview he stated that at the moment there is no TV series scheduled. After revealing that he was cast as a director only after the Disney fired the main ones (Phil Lord e Chris Miller), revealed that he considers Solo as a sort of "clandestine success". Even if the film has been inserted between the 25 highest-grossing films of 2018 (with approx 393 million of dollars at the box office), has certainly not held up to comparison with other titles. Just compare it to the previous spin-off Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which grossed about a billion dollars. Howard has therefore confirmed that, for now, the choice to produce a sequel to Solo: A Star Wars Story it wouldn't be wise.

Sad news for the actor Alden Ehrenreich, who hopes to be able to return soon as the young smuggler. So we just have to keep hoping, and wait for official news from Disney itself. In the meantime, we know for sure that, in addition to the sequel to The Mandalorian, at least a couple of titles based on the universe of Star Wars. The next film to be released in theaters is scheduled for 2023, after being postponed by at least one year. For all updates regarding these, and other upcoming titles, we as usual will not fail to keep you informed.
