Shovel Knight: Developers may be working on a 3D title

According to some recent rumors Yacht Club Games, the development studio behind the famous series Shovel Knight, would be working on some new titles, including at least one made in 3D. Through a job offer published on Gamasutra, the studio would seem to be looking for a team dedicated to the development of 3D video games to complement the existing one, dedicated to 2D titles. At the moment Yatch Club Games has not yet talked about a hypothetical 3D game in development, but there is a good chance that the studio is willing to get out of their comfort zone to devote themselves to something new and different.

Yatch Club Games is working on a new fully 3D project, and is trying to put together a dedicated team (along with a new custom engine) to integrate with the existing 2D team. The candidate must have experience with C and C ++ programming languages for 2D and 3D development, as well as possess strong mathematical skills for 3D.

Mainly known for classic-style 2D titles and pixel art, the development studio may be working on something completely different than previously published works, so we just have to wait for more details and statements regarding the title. At the moment Yatch Club Games is also working on Shovel Knight Dig, Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon and Cyber Shadow, which will soon be released on the market.
