Shadow of Mordor: servers shut down, but there is good news for completists

The online servers of de Middle-earth: The shadow of Mordor. The closure, which was actually scheduled for December 30, 2020, was made with the latest update which took place until the beginning of January 2021 to be made available. Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has therefore blocked the online servers of the game but has also removed some of the features within the title on the following platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One e Steam. Despite this, with the release of a patch on January 12, it is again possible to obtain some of the trophies related to those functions, and consequently lovers of platinum and / or objectives will have something to rejoice.

The official site WB Games Support has listed the contents that have currently been made no longer available, namely: the function of the Nemesis Forge, as well as the Revenge missions. Furthermore, as it was easy to think, even the visible in-game rankings have been reworked, as now they no longer show the data of other users, but only those of the single player. The WBPlay platform is also closed and is no longer available online for users. What has remained unchanged, or has been updated with the release of the latest patch, is the presence of the trophies "Repaid in Blood", "Lord of the Ring" and "The hunt is my lady" which still remain obtainable in game, as well as the "Orc Hunter" and "Gravewalker" Epic Runes upgrades, which are now automatically received for all players.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, released in 2013 on PC and consoles, despite the changes it underwent in this latest patch released at the beginning of the year, still remains a very enjoyable game even today. Recall that the title is a single-player action RPG, inspired, as evidenced by its title, by the fantastic fantasy world built within the novels of good old and dear Tolkien. Made at the time by Behavior Interactive and Monolith Productions, the latter also made its sequel in 2017 Middle-earth: The shadow of war, available on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
