Samsung Galaxy A20e won't charge. Here is the solution.

Samsung Galaxy A20e won't charge. Here is the solution.

One of the really useful features of the Samsung Galaxy A20e is its battery. It has a 4000mAh battery that could last a couple of days but what good is it if you can't charge it when you need to, right? Some owners of this great phone have reported that it no longer charges after a few weeks of use.

While most people think this is a hardware issue that affects the battery itself, most of the time this isn't quite the case. So, in this post, I will walk you through in troubleshooting your Galaxy A20e that is no longer charging.

We will consider all possibilities and rule them out one by one until we are able to determine what the problem is and… hopefully we will fix it. So, if you are one of the owners of this phone and are experiencing similar problems then read on as this article may be able to help you one way or another.

Troubleshooting Galaxy A20e not charging anymore

Both hardware and firmware play an important role in the charging process, contrary to what many believe is just a hardware problem.

The firmware actually allows you to detect when to recharge and when to stop it as soon as the battery is charged. So, in solving this problem, you need to consider both and with that said, here's what you need to do ...

1) Galaxy A20e, perform the forced restart first

The first thing to do if the phone is not charging is the forced restart or simulated battery removal. This fixes any possible firmware issues that may have caused this problem. Here's how to do it:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Down button and don't release it yet.
  2. While holding down the volume button, also press and hold the power key.
  3. Press and hold both keys together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy A20e logo appears on the screen.

Once your phone has successfully restarted, try plugging it into its charger to see if the problem is resolved. If your Galaxy A20e still won't charge, move on to the next procedure.

2) Galaxy A20e make sure the charger and cable are in good condition

Another cause, the problem could be with the charger and / or the cable. The next thing you need to do is physically check the charger. Just look in the door to see if there is anything, like garbage, lint, or debris of any kind.

You can use an antistatic brush to clean the charger port and if there is something sticking, use a pair of tweezers to remove it.

For the cable, you just have to inspect both ends to see if there is anything obstructing the electricity. Anything sticking to or covering the connectors could be the cause of this problem. Then, make sure both ends are clean and inspect the thread itself to see if there is any kind of break or unevenness.

After making sure your charger and cable are in good condition but your Galaxy A20e still won't charge, move on to the next solution.

3) Galaxy A20e, make sure your phone's charging port is clean

If you are like me who always put your phone in your pocket, no matter how big or small it is, then you should have seen with your own eyes that small pieces of cloth enter the charging port of the device.

Anything that does not belong must be removed as it obstructs the electricity. Again, use an antistatic toothbrush or just a regular, dry toothbrush to clean the door. After that, try to connect the phone to the charger and if it still doesn't charge then move on to the next solution.

4) How to factory reset Galaxy A20e

If your Galaxy A20e still has enough power, make a backup of your important files and data, then reset your phone. This will remove all of your personal data from your phone to protect your privacy and rule out the possibility that this is only due to a firmware issue. Here's how to reset your device:

  1. Remove your Google and Samsung accounts.
  2. Turn off the device.
  3. Press and hold the key Volume up and the key Bixby, then hold down the key power on.
  4. When the Galaxy A20e logo appears, release all three keys.
  5. Your Galaxy A20e will continue to boot into recovery mode. When a black screen with blue and yellow texts appears, proceed to the next step.
  6. Press the key several times Volume down to highlight “wipe data / factory reset”.
  7. Press the Potenza key to select.
  8. Press the button Volume down until “Yes” is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power button to select and start the master reset.
  10. When the master reset is complete, “Reboot system now” is highlighted.
  11. Press the power button to restart the device.

After the reset, try to charge your Galaxy A20e and if after all this still doesn't charge then take the phone to the shop so that a technician can check it.
