Rugby 18 Hands On

    Rugby 18 Hands On

As is well known, we are a nation of sports enthusiasts, especially when it comes to football. Other sports such as basketball, or rugby as in this case, very often pass on the sly, obtaining media coverage only at the dawn of certain international competitions. We at Resources4Gaming during our stay at Gamescom in Cologne we had the opportunity to try Rugby 18, a sort of FIFA of the oval ball, so here are our impressions of the product.

Rugby 18 Hands OnAlthough I myself am not a deep connoisseur of the discipline, it was a great pleasure to note that within the videogame, in addition to the classic friendlies against the CPU and friends, you can play the career mode having an important role also under the managerial aspect and other features like the Weekly Challenge and My Squad, but the latter two weren't explored during our test. Although I have never approached the game of rugby, I found the title difficult but at the right point, I'll explain you better: the controls were easy and intuitive and, despite not having gone beyond the draw, I had the distinct feeling that with a little more practice I could definitely have my say. It was nice to find out how there will also be several licenses of some leagues in the title, thus proving the devotion and commitment of the developers.

Rugby 18 Hands OnGraphically we are at excellent levels, with a deterioration of the field that increases with the progress of the game. The thing I appreciated most were the blends which, after becoming more practical with the controls, went smooth as oil. The games flow fun and fluid, without hitches of any kind, giving a strong demonstration that with passion you can achieve really high results. The end result is a truthful product that seriously respects the realism of the matches, giving a sense of complete immersion that fans will surely be able to grasp.

In conclusion we can say that Rugby 18 it is a videogame that surprises; in fact, after entering the test room, we expected everything except such a well-developed product, complete with official licenses that really satisfy the user. What we have before us is a complete videogame from every point of view where even newbies to the genre can look for the approach. We hope that the final product will live up to the expectations created after our test at Gamescom.
