Here we are, now there are only a few weeks left to the most awaited event of the year for all gamers, the Electronic Entertainment Expo of Los Angeles which will take place this year (and will be open to the public for the first time) from 13 15 to June but which, like last year, will be preceded by a separate event entirely dedicated to Electronic Arts: we are obviously talking about EA Play! Remaining faithful to the line adopted last year, the EA developers will hold a separate event from the rest of the fair, also in Los Angeles, but in another location, the splendid Hollywood Palladium
The event will be open from 10 12 to June, and on the very first day, at 22:00 hourswe can attend the Electronic Arts streaming conference, where we will be presented with the novelties of this year! Below you can find some of the titles that are likely to be presented, along with some of our personal speculation about the event!
Star Wars Battlefront 2
Let's start immediately with the game that, most likely, will be the undisputed protagonist of the whole EA Play: Star Wars Battlefront 2, sequel to the title released in November 2015 and that despite having good premises, has left a bitter taste in the mouth of the fans of the saga and not. The cause of its failure was mainly due to the absence of a single player campaign capable of making us live (or relive) some of the events related to the protagonists of the series born from the genius of George Lucas. DICE However, she seems to have learned from past mistakes, and with the support of Criterion and Motive Studios she has rolled up her hands to create a second chapter that we hope will bear the name of the historic Star Wars saga with honor. This Battlefront 2 in fact it will have a real plot, with a good roster of characters from various Star Wars films, ranging from Darth Maul (Episode I: The Phantom Menace) to Kylo Ren and Rey (Episode VII). Obviously there will be no lack of content dedicated to Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, a film to be released in December in cinemas around the world, which will be accessible pre-ordering the game.
For the moment, what we know about the game's plot concerns the protagonist of the unpublished story that we will play within the single player campaign, Iden Versio: a young warrior who has risen through the ranks of the imperial army, to join the infamous Inferno Squadron. It was also revealed that not the entire plot will be about Iden's point of view, but rather, her exploits they will intertwine with other historical characters of the brand (like Luke Skywalker), which we will be able to impersonate ourselves during some phases of the game. As has been disclosed, the participants in theEA Play they will be able to try this game in advance through a series of dedicated stations. We can therefore say that Star Wars Battlefront II aims to truly be the Star Wars game that all fans have been cheering on for years.
FIFA 18 and EA Sports
By now we know, Electronic Arts is also synonymous with sport and, as every year, also during this conference the new editions for the year 2018 of FIFA, Madden NFL ed NBA LIVE. Unfortunately, we still don't know much about the last two, except that they will be present in a playable version during the event and that they will certainly have a space during the conference on stage, while of FIFA, which has always been at the top of the sales charts in Spain, we know already some interesting anticipation. The modality will still be present, as in last year's edition "The Journey" which will allow us to continue living the career and dream of a professional footballer Alex Hunter. The game will continue as its predecessor to be developed on the Frostbite graphics engine and, with the aim of making the title more realistic, in this edition the weather conditions will affect the state of the field.
The weather conditions will in fact affect the performance of the players and any "strange" movements of the ball, making everything more unpredictable and consequently also raising the level of challenge. From this year, therefore, the weather conditions will no longer be a simple graphic embellishment, but must be taken into consideration by the players, in order to avoid blunders on the pitch! Another big news of this year's edition will be the debut of this franchise on Nintendo Switch, which will complement the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC versions with features designed specifically for the new hybrid console of the great N!
Need For Speed 2 (?)
Another great probable protagonist of the opening conference of theEA Play this year is the new chapter of Need for Speed, historical saga of car racing that after the reboot released in 2015, which achieved some success, took a year off to clear his mind and put more time into creating a new chapter worthy of the historic Underground 2 and Most Wanted . Born from the collaboration of Ghost Games and Electronic Arts, this new title does not yet have an official name, but it has already been confirmed by the developers who in the meantime have talked about the guidelines they have followed in the development of the game. The team that took care of this Need for Speed in fact, he listened very carefully to i feedback that came from the players of the 2015 reboot, thus investing more time in those features much requested by users.
In this new chapter the Vehicle customization will once again become the protagonist of the game, a feature that in recent years had been limited compared to the old glories of this brand. Another interesting feature will be the return to offline game: in fact in this new chapter we will be able to play while remaining totally offline thus allowing us to pause our game. So we just have to wait for the official reveal of the game during the conference to find out more!
DLC (free and not) + various and possible
Like every year, on the conference stage EA Play, Electronic Arts will offer us several curtains dedicated to the new DLCs arriving for his titles already on the market. In all likelihood Titanium case 2 will continue to receive free content, thus keeping the line held to date, and maybe we will also see some clips of Titanfall Assault, the brand's new strategic mobile title. Another certainly awaited additional content on stage is "In the Name of the Tsar", the second expansion dedicated to Battlefield 1 which, as the name implies, will take us to the agitated eastern front of the First World War in which the tsarist empire collapsed in 1917 to give life to the communist revolution. We must not forget too Mass Effect Andromeda, last pearl baked by Electronic Arts, which is sure to see additional content coming in the near future.
Obviously what we talked about today are only the confirmed contents that we will go to see during the conference of Electronic Arts, but it wouldn't be a real E3 if they didn't show us some new bombs on the way. In short, whether they are followed by old brands or real new franchises, we just have to wait anxiously for the June 10!
