On the occasion of SXSW 2021 Johannes Roberts, director of the live action film of resident evil and which will sanction a cinematic reboot of the highly acclaimed videogame saga, revealed during a recent interview with IGN microphones the official title of the film, which will be officially called "Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City". But that's not all, since Roberts confirmed that the film will adapt the first two games of the famous Capcom franchise into a single feature film. Set in 1998, the reboot will chronicle the events of the city under siege by infected zombies and will see the return not only of RE 1's mansion (including the city), but also RE 2's police station.

This is not the only project coming up for the brand, since also Netflix is currently working on an animated series dedicated to the brand, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, a production that will tell the aftermath of the events of the highly acclaimed RE 4 and will see the return of the interpreters of Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield of Resident Evil 2 Remake, with a debut scheduled for the well-known streaming platform by the end of 2021.
