Razer Ifrit - Review of the in-ear streaming headphones

It is not important who comes first, but who does things right. These are the words spoken by Robert Krakoff and, indeed, he is not entirely wrong. For this reason, the competition between the various PC peripheral manufacturers always comes down to quality, not quantity or new features. but yet Razer has always had the soul of an explorer in him, and for this reason we are not surprised by the launch of the Razer Ifrit, headphones that have everything but respect for the standard dogmas of gaming headphones. But on the other hand, we are not talking about gaming headphones, but streaming.

Packaging

The package that contains the headphones is quite minimal: removed the headband and the USB adapter, there will be nothing left but information documents and green plastic. The transparent plastic immediately highlights the headband, which shows itself in its practical but at the same time stylish manufacture.

Design

Several times I have spoken of Razer Ifrit like a headband: this is because these headphones are actually the equivalent of the streaming headband. The microphone is flexible, the plastic that will surround the head at the nape of the neck is soft and not at all uncomfortable, and the in-ear headphones will be able to pierce your brain by isolating the sounds like a pair of large headphones. So where is the difference? In comfort. Large headphones are heavy, they warm the ears, after some time they get annoyed in the head. The Ifrit instead you will forget you are wearing them, and this will be convenient for those who spend hours and hours working on the PC.

The USB sound card instead looks like a classic USB dongle with two 3.5mm inputs, capable of managing two inputs / outputs, as well as changing the microphones at the push of a button.

Performance

We used the Razer Ifrit both for some business conferences, and for videos to be recorded, and I must say that in both cases, comfort really reigns supreme. In this way Razer has managed to position itself in a still unexplored fragment of the sector, and it will be very little time before everyone notices this innovation. If we assume that the microphone is a condenser one, you can imagine how this bow manages to maintain an absurd quality, especially after discovering the price.

Price

You can find the Razer Ifrit at 100 € on the official Razer store (and if you are quick, you can take advantage of free shipping): the price is very low, if we put ourselves that the audio performance is one of the best and the performance of the microphone equals some condenser microphones for the price of two or three times greater.
