Due to the coronavirus epidemic, the gaming world is also suffering from it from different points of view; from hardware and software production of consoles and videogames up to sporting events dedicated to eSports there are many buttons that, unfortunately, the virus has touched. In fact, it seems that the tournament dedicated to PUBG, famous Battle Royale and Fortnite competitor, or the PUBG Global Series expected in Berlin, was postponed to the end of the year precisely because of the virus that has recently been causing deaths and infections around the world.
PUBG Corporation, worried by the current situation, she decided to postpone the tournament and did so through this press release:
“PUBG Corp. considers the health and safety of players, employees and fans like any other human being, which is why we have chosen to postpone the Berlin event scheduled between March and April. The dates and times of the regional qualifiers will probably also change. However, we will try to confirm the four PUBG eSports events in 2020, for this reason we are exploring numerous options for a possible replacement event. We will provide further updates when we have a real alternative to the Berlin event and better global medical situations. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we try to figure out what to do. "
The Berlin event in March was supposed to be the first of the year that would open the doors to the entire PUBG Global Series 2020 event which, following the present facts, will be postponed to a later date as well as subsequent events.
Due to the health concerns surrounding Coronavirus, we have decided to postpone PGS: Berlin. Our first priority is the safety of our players, staff, and fans.
