    The great Japanese company Sony, is quietly enjoying a very important new milestone reached by its flagship console: PS4. Following some news that sees the latest Japanese console aiming to break the record of millions of units sold worldwide, Sony, has today made official that his console has managed to sell 91,6 million units also basking on the results of his Marvel's Spieder-Man.



    The following is reported in the official press release of the company:

    “Thanks to the continued support of our fans during the holiday season, we are pleased to announce that PS4 has reached 91,6 million units globally. We are also happy to announce that PlayStation Network monthly active users continue to experience strong growth that exceeded 90 million at the end of November 2018, ”said John Kodera, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment. “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our community of enthusiasts around the world and to our partners, who help us achieve these important milestones. This year we will bring more and more inspiring experiences to our fans, with a highly anticipated line-up of exclusive games for PS4. Looking to future goals, SIE will continue to evolve and further expand the platform, so as to offer the best interactive entertainment experiences in the world ”.

    These are the results divided by period:

    • PS4 surpassed 91,6 million units sold globally as of December 31, 2018
    • of these, more than 5,6 million units were sold worldwide during the 2018 holiday season

    Furthermore:

    • More than 50,7 million titles PS4 were sold worldwide during the holidays, for a total of 876 million games PS4 sold globally as of December 31, 2018
    • Marvel's Spider-Man, launched in September 2018, has totaled more than 9 million copies sold worldwide as of 25 November 2018
