In just three weeks, users who pre-ordered PlayStation 5 will finally be able to get their hands on the new home console Sony and enjoy the start of what will be the ninth generation of consoles. As we already know, PS4 titles will be fully backwards compatible on the new machine except for only 10 games which you can view here. Regarding the titles for PS VRInstead, PlayStation 5 will need a special adapter that allows it to be used on the new machine, and Sony seems to be doing it giving to its users.
For all those who intend to continue using the device on the new console, PlayStation support has opened a dedicated page where it will be possible to request, totally free of charge, the adapter that allows the use of the device on the nextgen console. The latter allows you to connect the PS Camera to PS5, as the new PS5 HD camera is not compatible with PS VR. Thanks to this dongle, all PS4 VR games will now be backwards compatible on PS5.
What should I do to request the adapter? All those who are in possession of a PS VR device will be able to apply, with a limit of a single piece per household, by filling out a dedicated form on the official website. In addition to a series of personal data, Sony will ask you to enter the PS VR serial number found on the rear panel of the Processor Unit, indicated by an initial letter which can be C, P or M depending on the region.
