Project xCloud: Microsoft explains why it won't be coming to iOS

As you well know, earlier this week Microsoft products confirmed that xCloud, its gaming streaming service will be bundled with Xbox Games Pass Ultimate and available starting in the month of September on devices Android, without mentioning in any way a possible release for the Apple mobile devices. In the past few hours, the Redmond company has decided to "break" the delay by providing a clear and detailed answer to the CNET microphones, in which the US giant has outlined its position, explaining that currently there is no solution to bring Project xCloud on iOS. We report in detail what was communicated:

Our Project xCloud iOS app test period has expired. Unfortunately, we don't have a path to bring gamers our vision of cloud gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on iOS via Apple's App Store. Apple is the only platform that, for general purposes, denies consumers cloud gaming and gaming-themed subscription services like Xbox Game Pass.

We will strive to find an "alternative" path to bring cloud gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to iOS devices as well. We believe that the customer should be at the center of the gaming experience and that it is the users and the players who decide their game, connect and share their experience wherever they are, no matter where they are.

Microsoft's intention to bring Project xCloud to iOS devices is there, but will it be enough to “change” the business strategies of the Cupertino company? At the moment, we remind you that the debut of the streaming service dedicated to cloud gaming is set for the next September 2020 "Only" on Android devices.
