Predator: Hunters - Review of the comic published by SaldaPress

After the success achieved this summer with the monthly series Aliens, thanks to the publishing house saldapress the first monthly series dedicated to the Predators will debut in the coming days in the comic shops and in the Spanish bookstores, Dark Horse Comics. Written by Chris Warner and designed by Francisco Ruiz Velasco, the story of Predator: Hunters tells of a group of men trained in weapons who have been offered a mission as important as it is risky, namely to hunt down an old acquaintance of theirs: a ruthless Predator who appears to be on an island in the Philippines. This first issue of the series will also be available in a collectible variant cover.

Predator: Hunters - Review of the comic published by SaldaPressThe roles are reversed

We found the swapping of roles within the story of this first volume of Predator: Hunters really interesting. The Predators from fearsome and ruthless hunters will find themselves the "prey" of this super group of men trained and survived the clash with some of them in the past, led by Nakai (protagonist of the 1992 Predator: Big Game comic). The settings that the designer Francisco Ruiz Velasco offers us fully center the true essence of the Predator franchise and placing this clash between men and predators on the island described in the comic (very similar to that of the first film dedicated to Predator) is an added value that makes the story full of action and suspense, given the abilities of both sides to blend in and create ambushes. The story that Chris Warner proposes to us fully enhances the fundamental aspects that have always distinguished the stories of the most fearsome predators of the entire universe, i.e. continuous tension from the very first lines, bloodbaths, and the excellent characterization of every single character present in the super soldier team (result that in my opinion the director Shane Black in his new film, for a variety of reasons, was unable to do ed).

This new monthly is a good starting point for new readers who want to approach the universe in question and a pleasant read for longtime fans, who will find in this mini series composed of three issues many similarities with the stories of the past, as this new series was created in order to tie the editorial past of the fearsome hunters Yautja with this new course. We find ourselves faced with an excellent mix of past and future, a sort of time machine that for now manages to please everyone, hoping that the continuation of the story will be able to give us even more.
