Pokémon: top 10 of the worst titles in the series released on the market

Pokémon: top 10 of the worst titles in the series released on the market

This year is the twenty-fifth anniversary Pokémon, and Game Freak e The Pokémon Company celebrated the event through a video recap of all these last years, a virtual concert and the release of three new chapters, including the remakes of the fourth generation games and the new, super interesting Pokémon Legends: Arceus. In fact, it seems that the brand and the saga of our well-known multicolor monsters is far from over, but will still enjoy good health for a long time.

So in the editorial office we asked ourselves… but after all these years of exciting and memorable titles, what are the worst themed games ever released? And here we have therefore decided to draw up this ranking. Titles that the various development teams would perhaps have done better to postpone, or that at least they had revisited and expanded in some game mechanics. Obviously we would like to clarify that it is a completely list subjective and based on our personal tastes.

10

Pokémon Battle Revolution

Pokémon: top 10 of the worst titles in the series released on the market

Let's start with something light, Pokémon Battle Revolution. The game itself has a pretty good foundation and nice 3D models, but then why did it end up in this ranking? The reason is soon said, it is the version that has come worse than its more famous brother: Pokémon Stadium. In fact, despite the games being released years later - Pokémon Stadium was for Nintendo 64, while Battle Revolution for the Wii - the latter does not add much either in terms of graphics and animations, or in terms of extra modes.

9

Pokémon Quest

Pokémon: top 10 of the worst titles in the series released on the market

We continue the ranking with a smartphone game, Pokémon Quest. The general idea of the title to exploit components of Minecraft, not only in making all the cubes models, but also having a system of crafting and a minimum of survival is not bad. Too bad, however, that the game is repetitive in the long run, and the fact that the title DON'T being more supported and updated has caused the community to abandon it as well. A badly exploited opportunity in our opinion.

8

Hey you, Pikachu!

Pokémon: top 10 of the worst titles in the series released on the market

We begin slowly to venture into the games that actually make us turn up our noses, and let's start with Hey you, Pikachu! Game for Nintendo 64 where you simply had to look after a Pikachu. We could almost call it a Nintendogs experimental. It is appreciable that you could interact with your Pokémon also via voice activation. Too bad that almost nothing worked as it should. Side note, the title became famous because of the glitch that characterized it.

7

Pokémon Shuffle

Pokémon: top 10 of the worst titles in the series released on the market

It's up to another phone game, Pokémon Shuffle. Classic title that tries to ride the wave of Candy Crush proposing the same style of gameplay in which you must be able to form a trio of identical icons to score points or, as in this case, inflict damage. The main problem with this game, besides the repetitiveness and monotony of the matches, is that it has nothing else, nor an interesting plot, nor other features that could make him re-evaluate from other points of view. At least it is free.

6

Pokemon dash

Pokémon: top 10 of the worst titles in the series released on the market

The next title is a game for the Nintendo DS, We are talking about Pokemon dash, a racing game in which, however, instead of cars and motorbikes, we will have our well-known monsters. And the merits of the game basically end there. It has weak graphics compared to its competitors at the time - as the game came out in 2005 - no interesting storyline and even the races in and of themselves are nothing special. Again, a game that perhaps could have had potential, but was ultimately very superficially developed.

5

Pokémon Channel

Pokémon: top 10 of the worst titles in the series released on the market

We reached the middle of the table with a game for Nintendo GameCube. Let's talk about Pokémon Channel. Here we should be more lenient in criticism since it is a title born for a target of children, but this game is not very defensible. Basically we will have at our command a Pikachu that we can make move at will within a room. The only really possible interaction is with the TV to be able to play some minigames, plus nothing really interesting. All at a cost at the time of 50 €.

4

Pokémon Link

Pokémon: top 10 of the worst titles in the series released on the market

You know the only real advantage of Pokémon Shuffle, or that at least it was free? Here, it is not the case with Pokémon Link, yet another game based on a grid with different icons to explode, but this time on the Nintendo DS. It has nothing more than the aforementioned Shuffle, literally, if not for the cost. In fact, at launch this title cost 15 €. We don't think there is anything else to add.

3

Pokémon Rumble Rush

Pokémon: top 10 of the worst titles in the series released on the market

Last chapter of the famous spin-off saga Rumble, this time on a smartphone. Pokémon Rumble Rush it's a game that DON'T it makes its predecessors the least bit proud. If before this saga was based on a few simple commands, with our colorful monsters who could just move, hit and use a skill to the maximum, in this title they wanted to simplify everything even more. The result is a game too basic to be fun after the first 10 minutes of the game.

2

Pokémon Ranch

Pokémon: top 10 of the worst titles in the series released on the market

We have reached the last two positions of this ranking, and we start with Pokémon Ranch. Game developed for the Wii in 2008 which was nothing more than a Pokémon bank. Literally the only thing you could do was insert your Pokémon and make them run free around the ranch, or at most have them parade in front of you. I play incredibly an end in itself which, however, was not free, but cost 10 €. An exaggerated price without a shadow of a doubt.

1

Pokémon Dream Radar

Pokémon: top 10 of the worst titles in the series released on the market

We now come to the first position, where we find a game that has also been rated among the worst titles for Nintendo DSi, Pokémon Dream Radar. What to say about this game? It sounded like a very interesting idea, but it didn't turn out to be one at all. He used the virtual reality and the console room to allow us to find the Pokémon in our room, launch laser beams and capture them. That's all, you couldn't do anything else, and what little you did had nothing to do with Pokémon. A real disaster.

This was our ranking of the 10 worst Pokémon games ever released. What do you think? Do you agree with us or is there any other chapter you would have liked to include?
