Niantic Inc., the company behind Pokemon GO, has just announced that he is working on a new game, Pikmin AR, and that you can pre-register for its release later this year. After the great success of the mobile title dedicated to Pokemon, which still has many players since its release, Niantic is therefore preparing to bring another of the very strong brands of Nintendo. The company revealed its new partnership with Nintendo with the announcement of Pikmin AR, stating that this is just the beginning of some projects with the Kyoto house.

The [Pikmin] app will include play activities to encourage walking and make walking more enjoyable. The Pikmin AR experience is slated to launch later this year. While we don't have a specific release date yet, more information on what this experience will look like will be on the way in the coming months.

Niantic achieved success thanks to Pokemon GO. Especially in the months following the launch, the app has been downloaded by millions of players, who poured into the streets in search of Pokemon, taking advantage of the innovative AR virtual reality that allowed them to see pocket monsters appear directly on the screens of their phones, immersed in everyday life. Niantic continued support the game also in the following years, first with the addition of Pokémon from all regions of the main saga, and then with the addition of raids, exchanges and many other features have helped bring this particular Pokémon adaptation, after a natural period of estrangement, into the devices of many users.

Today, therefore, Niantic prepares to repeat the experience thanks to the Pikmin. We do not yet know what this new experience will be like in practice, but we are sure that it will once again attract many players. It will be up to Niantic to keep their interest high by supporting the app in the long run.
