PlayStation Indies Initiative: the new project dedicated to indie titles is underway

A new and interesting project has been unveiled by Sony in these last hours that concerns the development of the titles indie. Through an announcement released on the PS Blog, the company has kicked off a new process that will help developers from small independent studios create, publish and ultimately advertise their product. This project will be called PlayStation Indies Initiative.

At the head of this initiative is the former director of Sony Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida. Not much has been said about it yet, except that the ultimate goal will be to concretely help and support the indie titles that will be released on Sony's consoles. In addition, nine games will be announced shortly to be released on both consoles: PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5; in addition, a new indie title will be added to the catalog every month PlayStation Now, starting from one of the most popular: Hello Neighbor.

For the moment these are the only and little information that has come out about it. The director Yoshida, meanwhile, wanted to express his personal opinion, advising everyone to keep an eye on a particular title: Bugsnax, considered by him an excellent example of how a game must be to be able to stay on one's home platforms.
