However, this could change in the coming months. According to the well-known analyst Daniel AhmadIn fact, a new wave of Sony consoles will hit the market by March. To be precise, the number of PlayStation 5s that will be available in the stores should be around three million units. A considerable number, which could help global retailers to handle the huge number of user requests.

Sony has confirmed that a minimum of 3 million new PlayStation 5 units will be available for purchase this year by March 31st, seeking to meet the latest PlayStation 4 requests as well.
Excellent news, therefore, for all those who have not yet managed to grab Sony's next-gen console. Playstation 5 has in fact recorded 4 and a half million units sold (5.9 in total adding the units placed by the previous hardware). A result that recalls that of PlayStation 4 in the same period of 2013, as told by Ahmad, who also focuses on profits and software data. Ahmad then stated that in the last segment of 2020, Sony has sold 103.7 million games between Playstation 4 and PlayStation 5, of which 18.4 million in first party titles. 53% of transactions took place digitally, but we must consider the Christmas period (and the tradition of placing gifts under the tree), given that in the whole year the amount of purchases in digital download was around 63%.

Most likely, it will be necessary wait for the arrival of the summer season to have enough consoles for everyone.
