Regarding the storage space free present on PlayStation 5, therefore to the amount of memory dedicated to the installation of the games owned since the launch, we can count an infinite amount of leaks and indiscretions. Although Sony has never officially expressed itself on the issue, we can now say with a very small margin of error, that PlayStation 5 will guarantee players 667 GB of free space from the moment it is turned on. The most eloquent image, towards which we have no reason in the world to raise doubts, is reported in the PS5 review published in the pages of the usgamer.net portal. The screen clearly shows that the free storage space is equal to 667.2 GB, as indicated in the first entry "Console storage". In the image it can also be seen that ben 8.75 GB they are dedicated to various system resources, indicated with a generic "Other".
Well, what does this mean for gamers? Everything will depend on the size of the games that will be released in the PlayStation 5 version between now and the next few years, of course. On PlayStation 4 we have seen an exponential growth (and a little worrying too, if you like) the size of the games. The last one Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, has exceeded (by far) 100 GB. Activision has already revealed the amount of storage space required for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (expected to arrive on 19st November on PS5): 133 GB, and we are only talking about the product just launched, without taking into account all the expansions that (as it is easy to predict) will be published in the future and that will end up requiring even more space.
If Sony's decision to make only 667 GB of free space available on PlayStation 5 has proved successful, only time will tell.
