PlayStation 5: the new State of Play will be held on Thursday 6 August!

After recently communicating which PS4 peripherals will be compatible with PlayStation 5, Sony surprised its fans by communicating the official date of the next one State of Play. According to the Japanese giant's Twitter account and the official blog, the event will take place on August 6th at 22pm, hours, during which not only a few will be shown third-party titles coming to PS4 and PS VR, but also of PlayStation 5 game related updates shown last June 11. Furthermore, according to the recent press release of the Japanese company, the panel will last about 40 minutes. We report in detail what was communicated:

It's been a while… but State of Play will return this Thursday with a focus on third-party published games coming to PS4 and PS VR. We will have some updates related to PS5 third party and indie games, which you last saw during the June showcase.

The episode will last more than 40 minutes (!). We have a huge lineup in store with tons of new gameplay footage and other updates. We can't wait to hear what you think!

And to be super clear, there will be no updates regarding PlayStation Studios titles in Thursday's episode. There will be no updates on hardware, deals, pre-orders or dates. On Thursday, our focus will be solely on unveiling some great games coming to the PlayStation ecosystem. It will be funny!

The new episode of the State of Play will air on Thursday, August 6 at 22pm, and you can watch it live on Twitch and YouTube.

State of Play returns Thursday at 9pm BST / 10pm CEST.

    What to expect:
⚫ A focus on upcoming PS4 & PS VR games
    ⚫ A few quick check-ins on third-party and indie games from June's PS5 showcase
