In our Future of Gaming digital event in June, we announced a series of peripherals and accessories for PlayStation 5 that will be launched during the holiday season. But we know that many of you were also wondering if and how existing PlayStation 4 peripherals are compatible with the next generation system. Today we are happy to share a short FAQ that will answer some of your questions.

What existing PS4 peripherals / accessories will work on PS5?
Special peripherals, such as officially licensed racing wheels, arcade sticks and flight sticks, will work with supported PS5 games and PS4 games.
Platinum and Gold wireless headphones, as well as third-party headphones that connect via USB port or audio jack, will work on PS5 (the headphone app is not compatible with PS5).
The DualShock 4 wireless controller and officially licensed third party gamepad controllers PlayStation will work with supported PS4 games.
Both PS Move motion controllers and PlayStation VR aim controller will work with PS VR games supported on PS5.
Note: Not all peripherals / accessories officially licensed by PlayStation or third parties may work on PS5. We recommend checking with the manufacturer to confirm if a product will work on PS5 and specific titles.
Will DualShock 4 work with PS5 games? No, we believe that PS5 games should take advantage of new features, novelties that we are introducing on the platform, including the features of the DualSense wireless controller.
Will the PlayStation Camera for PS4 be compatible with PS5? Yes, PlayStation Camera will work with PS5 for supported PS VR games. It will require a PlayStation Camera adapter which will be provided at no additional cost to PS VR users. More details on how to get the adapter will be announced at a later time.
