    PlayStation 4: details of new trophy changes revealed

    Recently announced i new details related to the upcoming modifications of the Trophies on PlayStation 4. The news came via a tweet (which you can find at the bottom of the article) in which it is anticipated that the Japanese company has made (and is still making) changes regarding the various levels. Recall that the Trophies were introduced for the first time with PlayStation 3 and have become a fundamental part for thevideogame experience on these consoles. The company also described these updates as "important news" and here is what is stated by Sony about:



    We are increasing the Trophy tier tiers from the current "1-100" to "1-999", so following this update, your Trophy tier will be automatically reassigned to a new tier of the new tiers based on the Trophies earned up to today. For example, if your current Trophy level is 12, the new level will be just above 200. The exact level will depend on the number of trophies you earn and how they rank. There will be no changes to Trophies already earned or Trophy information, such as unlock requirements.

    The new calculation system allows players to advance faster between the first few levels which will increase more regularly. In addition, Platinum trophies will count more towards advancement between levels, becoming even more valuable.

    Trophies you have earned on previous PlayStation systems will carry over to PlayStation 5, just as they did in previous transitions between generations. The new Trophy Levels will be visible wherever Trophy Levels are shown, including legacy systems, PlayStation App and My PlayStation.

    In the tweet you find below, a traker has been made available to keep you updated on your progress. In addition to what is reported in the previous lines, the icons of various trophies which will serve to indicate (visually) the relative distance to the next level. They always remain the 4 categories with the following level scheme:



    • Bronze: levels 1-299
    • Silver: levels 300-599
    • Gold: levels 600-998
    • Platinum: level 999

    Finally, we remind you that many PlayStation 4 titles, within the packaging for the physical version, will present a banner for free update on PlayStation 5.
