Phone doesn't ring when someone calls me

My phone does not ring when someone calls me: how to fix? If your phone doesn't ring when they call you, you need to check a few things to make it ring normally. Why is your Android phone not ringing and what to do?

Phone doesn't ring when someone calls me

When your Android phone doesn't ring, there are several possible causes. In the worst cases, the phone could be physically damaged or infected with malware. Most likely, however, it is possible that you have inadvertently silenced your phone, left it in airplane mode or do not disturb mode, enabled call forwarding, or there was a problem with a third-party app.

1. Check the volume settings

On most Android phones, there are four sliders: media volume, call volume, ring volume and alarm volume. The ringer volume is what you need to adjust. The call volume adjusts the sound during a phone call. Can you hear other types of audio, such as music, video or alarms? Try changing your ringtone. If you're using a third-party ringtone, try one of the built-in options.

2. If your phone rings but doesn't ring, seecheck that airplane mode is not active

When this mode is enabled, phone calls are sent directly to the answering machine. You can check by pulling down on the top of the phone screen to access Quick Settings or by going up Settings > Rete and Internet > Flight mode. Make sure it's turned off.

3. Make sure Do Not Disturb is disabled

When this feature is on, you will not receive any notifications, including incoming calls. Also check that Do Not Disturb is not set to turn on automatically at certain times of the day by selecting Settings > Sounds > Do not disturb > Activate automatically.

4. Check that call forwarding is not activated

Some apps, such as Google Voice, use this feature to forward voice messages. Make sure your calls aren't forwarded to a third-party calling app, like Skype. Some older Android phones have call forwarding settings. For the latest models, go to the app settings.

5. Restart your Android phone if your phone doesn't ring

If none of these tips helped you solve the problem, restart your phone. This solves many problems even if we will never know the cause.

6. Your phone got infected

Sometimes Android phones can get infected with malware. There are some steps you can take to remove malicious apps from your device. Restarting the phone in safe mode is a good way to identify problems.

7. Reset your Android phone to factory settings

Try resetting to factory settings, which can take care of removing malicious apps and other problematic data. Make sure you back up your phone before doing this.

If all of these tips didn't help, then the cause of this problem could be physical damage. Contact the manufacturer or network operator.
