Oculus VR and Oculus Connect change their name, here is the new Facebook division

Facebook continues its race in the world of gaming, more particularly the niche concerning virtual reality enthusiasts, through initiatives, devices, events and much more. Last, but only for temporal reasons, is the new move by "Rebranding" which concerns the name of the division and the annual event we are used to. The leaders of the social media giant have in fact decided not to call the division concerned with the name of Oculus VR. From now it will be Facebook Reality Labs. The same goes for the event, the Oculus Connect, which will be renamed from now on Facebook Connect.

To disclose this news was Andrew Bosworth, or the head of the new Facebook Reality Labs and also of the Facebook technology blog. These were his words:

Today we started a new working period, introducing a new name for Facebook's AR / VR team that will no longer be Oculus VR but has become Facebook Reality Labs (FRL). This choice was made to accompany the great work being done on Facebook as we are building the next IT platform to help people feel even closer even when they are not. Finally, we have changed the name of our annual conference, which, we are happy to share with you the next date which will be September 16th. The name, as I said, will no longer be Oculus Connect, from today it will be called Facebook Connect. Within Facebook Connect you will always be able to know more about the vision of Facebook Reality Labs and about the latest innovations of our team and our developers.

The change of names that took place today did not come so suddenly, the rebranding of the brand had in fact been anticipated a few days ago. To stay up to date on all the news regarding Facebook Connect which will take place in about 3 weeks, stay tuned to our pages.
