Ninja Gaiden: the author founds a new studio

In a post published on the own Facebook page the 53enne Tomonobu Itagaki, producer and director of the most recent installments of Ninja Gaiden, revealed that he founded the Itagaki Games, a new studio unrelated to its previous development teams, that is Tecmo e Valhalla Game Studios. This statement has been published on Facebook but is taken from an interview given by the author a Bloomberg January 6:

Over the past four years I have done everything to promote young people, but now I feel like I want to get back in the game and so I decided to start a company for that purpose.

The author was the authors of great titles edited by Tecmo including the aforementioned Ninja Gaiden e Dead or Alive. However, Itagaki had some differences with his employer following the release of Ninja Gaiden II in 2008, which saw him leave the company and sue from 1 million dollars for alleged unpaid bonuses. Tomonobu Itagaki is back to work on developing a game by founding it Valhalla Game Studios, the team developed behind the title for Wii U Devil's Third released of 2015. In 2017, however, he resigned from the office of director and took on the role of consultant. Devil's Third, Itagaki admitted, was originally intended to be exclusive Xbox 360, with Microsoft products which would have partially funded the formation of the Valhalla team. Devil's Third is however later first switched to THQ and subsequently to Nintendo. Thanks to the successes of Dead or Alive 3 and Ninja Gaiden, Itagaki still remains a key figure in Xbox history today and recently contributed a Bloomberg feature to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Microsoft console. Asked if he would consider working with Microsoft again in the future, Itagaki said he would be "honored" to join his old partner.

I've been making Xbox exclusive games for about 10 years. It's been 20 years since then and I started my own company, Itagaki Games, which isn't Tecmo, nor Valhalla. I know Microsoft is still aggressive. If they contact me, it will be an honor for me.
