Over the course of the night, there was EA Play Live 2020, where they were announced several titles to this and the next generation of consoles. Before the event, the official Twitter account dedicated to Need for Speed wanted to anticipate something and tell us that one of the most loved chapters, Need for Speed: Underground, is perhaps about to return. During the event, nothing was said, excluding that a chapter of the series is in development. Could it be the remake? We do not know.
The chirp simply showed the Need for Speed Heat logo and in the background the song Get Low by Lil 'John and The East Side Boyz, famous for being the Underground soundtrack, released 17 years ago. It could be a DLC for Heat, but perhaps a remake. As mentioned, Need for Speed: Underground is a title remained in the hearts of many players who lived through the PlayStation 2 era, when you think about the franchise there are usually only two titles that come to mind: Underground e Most Wanted.

Also, you have to consider the fact that Criterion has returned to run the series, so this could be it a determining factor for the hypothetical Underground remake, as they already know the series in depth and with Heat they definitely are managed to gather enough feedback by the players to understand what they really want. The question is: remake or remastered? Without forgetting that it could be "simply" a Underground 3, given that during the event there was talk of a new Need for Speed.
Unfortunately, it is not yet known, but certainly Electronic Arts will not waste the opportunity to create hype around its title. If with a simple tweet she managed to inflame the hearts of the fans of the series, we can well imagine what would happen in the case of an ad. But you always have to wait for official news from Criterion or EA.
