Morning Men Preview - Gamescom 2016

Among the ideas presented by Pixel Federation in Cologne, one of the most interesting and inviting was certainly Morning Men, another game coming for the end of 2016. What we were actually shown were trailers that anticipated the mechanics of the game (a RPG with turn-based combat), but already from these we can say that the work is really remarkable. Lost in a post apocalyptic world, very similar to that of the various Mad Max, we will impersonate Luditte, a girl who will inevitably be called to explore the hostile outside world. In doing so, she will begin to tell her story, and that of those who live around her. Precisely this is a key point of the Pixel Federation production: the ability to be able to tell their own story, with many choices available and interactions with different characters and viable paths, and of course, many ways to end their adventure.

Morning Men Preview - Gamescom 2016The combat system is quite traditional to tell the truth, the turns are assigned and visible at the top during the battles, obviously depending on the character's initiative, since going forward we will meet more and more people to let in the party. The feature that surprised us the most, however, was the graphic component, which never as in these cases can we trace back to a real artistic production: in fact the environments and characters are drawn in comic style, in the sense that the whole story is narrated by conveying it with cartoons, situations and scenes typical of American comics. In fact, it is not a secret for the developers: their inspirers from a design point of view are sacred comics like Madureira, Yu, but also great story writers like George Lucas and Stan Lee.

All these premises portend a really deep and complex single player experience, which we hope will really keep all expectations. Morning Men it will not see the light before this fall, and has just entered the phase Steam Greenlight, so the exit should be pretty certain by now. Stay tuned for more information on this promising indie!
