Morbius, whose full name is Michael Morbius, is a house cartoon character The Marvel movies created by R e Gil Kane. Morbius made his first appearance in October 1971 on the series dedicated to Spider-Man or Amazing Spider-Man. His rivalry with Spider-Man and with the "Diurno" Blade.

Michael Morbius is a brilliant scientist, but he has only a few days left to live due to leukemia. In the last attempt to save him, his friend Emil Nikos he injected the blood of a rare species of bat into his body. this, combined with the radiations emanating from a machine designed by Emil, transform Michael Morbius into a creature of the night animated by a terrifying thirst for blood. The scientist's skin became corpse white, his canines lengthened considerably, and his strength had increased at least twice as much. Morbius, unable to control his thirst for blood, attacks his friend Emil but shortly before killing him he realizes what he had become and so he escaped leaving his best friend in a pool of blood. Traces of him were lost for a long time. Once his strength has returned and he has become aware of himself, Morbius goes to the Dr. Connors looking for help ... but once inside the laboratory, the now ex scientist runs intoSpiderman. During this heated confrontation Morbius gets the better of his rival until Dr, Connors, transformed into Lizard.
The living vampire, given the numerical inferiority, decides to escape from the laboratory. During his escape Murbius runs into Blade, the vampire hunter also known by the name of "Daytime" who does not hesitate to attack him since he considers him a vampire like the others. Following this clash, Morbius goes to the good side and joins a team of vampire hunters created by Blade, or the Midnight Sons.
Powers and abilities
Morbius, not being a real vampire, does not possess all the powers of these nocturnal creatures: unlike his peers it can move even during the day, since the sunlight does not incinerate it but only damages it, decreasing the intensity of its powers and with the need to take refuge in a shaded area if the light becomes too strong. Among the powers of Morbius, in addition to one superhuman strength, appear the levitation which allows him to take advantage of the wind currents to speed up his movements, and a regenerating factor which allows him to heal much faster (even if afterwards he is forced to drink a lot more blood than normal to return to 100% shape). Furthermore Morbius has the ability to hypnotize beings with less willpower than his own.
