Mike Pondsmith: "Cyberpunk was a warning, not an aspiration"

    Mike Pondsmith:

The founder and creator of the board game Cyberpunk, Mike Pondsmithrecently made an interesting statement published by R. Talsorian Games, designer of the illustrious role-playing game that serves as the foundation for the upcoming video game cyberpunk 2077 developed by CD Projket Red. RTG is used to releasing news about its games on the first Friday of every month, however this time it made the decision to do something a little different:

Mike Pondsmith, as many of you may know, is black. RTG is, as far as we know, the first major full-time company founded by a black man. In our opinion, it remains one of the leading black-owned and operated board games companies.

The post explains that until last year Mike Pondsmith was the only black person in the Hall of Fame di Origins: The statement notes that Pondsmith has spent the last few days reflecting on current events and his life as a black man in the United States, and has taken the time to prepare a meaningful statement on "race, abuse of authority and power"And relating to the recent protests for racial discrimination:

People, regardless of their skin color, their gender identity, their sexual preferences, their ethnicity, their physical and mental differences, their age or religion, have the right to live their life without worrying about being harassed, beaten or killed by others, especially when they have power and authority. If power is abused, people have the right and, in fact, the duty to stand up and protest the abuse. Cyberpunk was a warning, not an aspiration to be fulfilled. #BlackLivesMatter

In addition to this, to anyone who may be interested, we remind you that the limited edition Cyberpunk 2077 is now available!
